I have an 1988 F-150 6cylinder, automatic tranny, XLT Lariat. The oil pressure gauge is within the normal range but it is on the low side. Oil was just changed, but it still is on the low side. My 2013 F-150 is showing the low oil pressure warning when idling or decelerating. my apologies, the 5.4 3v has inherent phaser issues, which i believe is caused by low oil pressure (i may be wrong) this causes advance and retard issues, The vehicle in question will try to stall on deceleration and also developed a slight knock prior to changing the shells.
